TRICARE is health insurance which is offered to individuals in the armed forces of the United States. Drug and alcohol use within the military is much more common than one would imagine, and the necessity to offer rehab to these individuals is a crucial priority. TRICARE covers a variety of treatment services to address drug and alcohol dependence such as detox services, and also rehabilitation in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient settings. Those that have TRICARE will naturally be asked to obtain a prior approval before partaking in any kind of rehab service, which may be organized using their regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient facility is the preferred rehabilitation choice, TRICARE will cover a three week period or one inpatient stay in such a program per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are certain limits concerning how long a TRICARE member can remain in an inpatient facility that accepts TRICARE, then there is typically a 30-45 day window that is covered. TRICARE also covers family treatment which can be very beneficial, as it can certainly help include loved ones in the healing and process of recovery. No person in the military should fight this battle alone, and there are expert rehab counselors waiting to assist you today.
