A group home for somebody who has been involved in drug abuse is a facility which offers continuous support and help for those in recovery. A group home is typically for troubled adolescents, but there are also group homes for folks with a mental health problem or who are experiencing behavioral trouble for example. As an alternative to sending people who are struggling with drug abusedrug use or recovering from substance abuse to an orphanage, asylum or another similar facility, a group home will help offer an appropriate environment to help individuals sustain stability in their lives and still have counsel and support at their fingertips around the clock. People who reside inside a group home may be involved in rehab services during residence, or may be taking actions to get their life set up outside of the group home to be able to at one point live independently away from the group home. As an example, a troubled youth that has been in recovery or has recovered from substance abuse can work on getting their GED or obtain employment. A group home is not necessarily a long-term or permanent answer, but it's a viable short-term option for individuals who are attempting to get their lives back together again.
