Individuals who would like to maintain a certain amount of flexibility within their lives can take advantage of an outpatient rehab should they need treatment for substance abuse. Outpatient rehab will allow for the treatment client to take part in rehabilitation services with the same commitment one would usually have to consent to in an inpatient or residential drug rehabilitation center. This doesn't always work in the treatment client's favor however, specifically those individuals who need to solve substantial drug abuse problems. So even though an outpatient rehab may seem like an expedient possibility, it isn't for everyone. Those who do choose an outpatient rehab will usually take part in meetings and take part in therapy and rehabilitation services on a part-time basis each day or several days weekly. This is often helpful for many who have recently completed a more comprehensive inpatient or residential program as a good aftercare or maintenance step, or someone with just a brief history of drug use which is usually a really small percentage of clients. For a person with more serious drug abuse and dependency issues, inpatient or residential drug rehab programs which provide rehabilitation on a long-term basis will be the more advantageous rehabilitation choice.
