TRICARE is health insurance which is offered to people in the military of the United States. Drug and alcohol use within the military is more common than one would assume, and the need to provide rehab to these individuals is a vital priority. TRICARE covers many different rehabilitation services to cope with drug and alcohol dependence such as detox services, as well as rehabilitation in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient facilities. People with TRICARE will of course be required to obtain a prior approval before partaking in any type of treatment service, which is often arranged with their regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient program could be the favored rehabilitation option, TRICARE will cover a three week period or one inpatient stay in this particular facility per benefit period which is every 12 months.
