TRICARE is medical health insurance which is provided to members of the military of the United States. Substance abuse within the military is more common than one would think, and the need to offer rehabilitation to these individuals is a vital priority. TRICARE covers a number of treatment services to handle drug and alcohol dependence like detox services, as well as rehab in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient settings. Those that have TRICARE will naturally have to have a prior approval before partaking in any type of rehabilitation service, that may be organized with their regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient facility is the favored rehab option, TRICARE covers twenty-one days or one inpatient stay in that program per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are certain limits as to just how long a TRICARE member can stay in the inpatient facility that accepts TRICARE, and there's typically a 30-45 day window that is covered. TRICARE also covers family counselling which is often very beneficial, as it may help include loved ones in the healing and process of recovery. No person in the military should struggle with this battle alone, and there are expert treatment counselors waiting to help today.
