TRICARE is health insurance that is provided to individuals in the armed forces of the United States. Substance abuse inside the military is a lot more common than one would imagine, and the need to provide rehab to these individuals is an important priority. TRICARE covers a number of rehabilitation services to deal with alcohol and drug dependence such as detox services, along with rehab in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient programs. People who have TRICARE will obviously be required to have a prior approval before partaking in any kind of rehab service, which is often arranged using their regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient center will be the favored rehab option, TRICARE will cover twenty-one days or one inpatient stay in that program per benefit period which is every 365 days. There are certain limits regarding how much time a TRICARE member can stay in an inpatient facility that accepts TRICARE, then there is typically a 30-45 day window that is covered. TRICARE also covers family treatment that may be very useful, as it can help include family members in the healing and recovery process. No member of the military should struggle with this battle alone, and there are expert rehabilitation counselors waiting to help today.
