Dual diagnosis rehabs are programs which deliver treatment to deal with both addiction and mental health issues at the same time. Dual diagnosis is an extremely prevalent circumstance for folks involved with drug abuse, as people who have mental health problems often self medicate with alcohol and drugs to experience some form of temporary relief from their disorder. Dual diagnosis clients also reap the benefits of behavioral rehabilitation that helps them develop far better coping methods so they are better able to deal with life circumstances more effectively after they leave dual diagnosis rehab rather than turning to alcohol and drugs as an inferior answer.
