Medicare is a form of medical health insurance designed by the federal government for seniors, along with people with certain disabilities and diseases. If someone who has Medicare needs treatment for cases of substance abuse, their rehab will either be covered entirely by their Medicare insurance or to a great degree. The one catch is, the individual will have to obtain treatment from a drugs and alcohol detox facility which accepts Medicare. Before the person will be allowed to begin treatment, they may also have to visit their medical doctor who must state that treatment services are medically needed, and the physician will usually approve what type of rehabilitation the person will do. Medicare Part An and Part B cover various kinds of rehabilitation providers. Part A covers an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted program if the individual must be hospitalized because of their issue, along with the costs which they willwill have to cover personally are identical to every other hospital stay. Medicare Part B will partially cover outpatient rehab within a Medicare accepted program, and the individual will need to cover whatever Medicare Part B doesn't pay for with supplement insurance coverage or they will have to self pay.
