Offering gender-specific treatment services has proven very useful in circumstances where standard rehab facilities have not meet expectations, like coping with situations within a women's life that are unique and distressing. Because of duties in the home, women also tend to postpone searching for and receiving treatment, a situation which can lead to catastrophe. Being mindful of this, rehab services for women are designed to ensure that a women's needs would be the concentration and priority. Much like coed centers, drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs that provide rehab solutions to women help women through detox and withdrawal as a starting point. After this step, counselors help women target both common and gender specific concerns who have brought on their substance abuse. Women also enjoy the positive support from their female peers, plus some centers which offer rehabilitation services to women also provide client beds for their young children.
