TRICARE is medical health insurance which is offered to individuals in the military of the United States. Drug abuse within the military is more common than one would assume, and the need to offer rehabilitation to these individuals is a vital priority. TRICARE covers a variety of treatment services to handle alcohol and drug dependence such as detoxification services, along with treatment in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient facilities. People with TRICARE will of course be required to get a prior approval before taking part in any sort of rehabilitation service, which may be organized using a regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient center is the favored rehabilitation option, TRICARE covers a 3 week period or one inpatient stay in that facility per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are particular limits about the length of time a TRICARE member can remain in an inpatient center that accepts TRICARE, and there is typically a 30-45 day window that is covered. TRICARE also covers family treatment which can be very useful, as it may help include loved ones in the healing and process of recovery. No member of the military should fight this battle alone, and there are skilled rehabilitation counselors standing by to help today.
