Medicare is a form of health care insurance created by the U.S. government for seniors, as well as people who have certain disabilities and diseases. When someone who has Medicare needs rehab for instances of substance abuse, their rehabilitation will be either covered in full by their Medicare health insurance or to a significant extent. The one exception is, the individual must acquire treatment from a drug rehab facility which accepts Medicare. Before the individual will be allowed to start treatment, they may also have to visit their physician who must declare that treatment services are medically essential, and the physician will usually approve what type of rehab the person will take part in. Medicare Part An and Part B cover a variety of rehab providers. Part A covers an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted facility if the individual must be hospitalized for his or her problem, along with the costs that they will have to pay for personally are the same as every other stay in a hospital. Part B will partially cover outpatient rehabilitation in a Medicare accepted facility, and the individual will have to cover whatever Medicare Part B doesn't pay for with supplemental insurance or they've got to self pay.
