A group home for a person who has tbeen involved with drug and alcohol abuse is a place which offers continual support and help for folks in recovery. A group home is typically for troubled adolescents, but there's also group homes for individuals with a mental health problem or who are encountering behavioral trouble for example. Rather than sending people who are experiencing drug abusedrug use or recovering from drug abuse to an orphanage, asylum or another similar facility, a group home will help provide an acceptable environment to help individuals maintain stability in their lives and also have counsel and support within reach 24/7. Residents inside a group home could be taking part in rehabilitation services whilst in residence, or could be taking measures to get their life setup outside of the group home to be able to at some time live independently away from the group home. For example, a troubled youth who may have been in recovery or has recovered from substance abuse can work on getting their GED or acquire work. A group home is not necessarily a long-term or permanent answer, but it is a viable short-term option for many who are trying to get their lives back together again.
