LGBT is short for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and there are facilities which address the unique needs of these clients. Those who are LGBT can feel alone, not understood, and considered socially depraved. This can be a very difficult or painful existence, and leads many LGBT individuals to a lifestyle of drug use to numb this pain. A LGBT facility provides an environment that's free from judgment, where LGBT clients can feel totally safe and comfortable revealing to their peers and rehab counselors problems which need to be resolved to enable them to recover. Rehabilitation counselors within a LGBT rehab will help clients fix relationships with their loved ones, in the event their loved ones disagree with their sexual preference as is generally the case. This situation is an extremely common trigger for substance abuse, which is an illustration of a thing that will be resolved in rehabilitation.
