Offering gender-specific rehab services has proven very helpful in circumstances where conventional treatment facilities have not meet expectations, including coping with situations within a women's life which are distinctive and traumatic. Such concerns may pertain to sexual abuse, physical abuse, mental abuse, eating disorders, one's family and being a mother, and other serious issues which can be particular to women. Research has shown that women can also become involved in drug abuse more easily than men, and so are more predisposed to illness due to drug abuse problems than males as a result.
