A group home for anyone who has been involved in alcohol and drug abuse is a place which provides continual support and assistance for those in recovery. A group home is ordinarily for troubled youth, but there's also group homes for people with a mental health disorder or who are encountering behavioral difficulties for example. As an alternative to sending people who are struggling with substance abuse or recovering from drug abuse to an orphanage, asylum and other similar place, a group home may help offer an acceptable environment to help individuals maintain stability inside their lives and still have counsel and assistance within reach around the clock. People who reside in a group home could be taking part in treatment services during residence, or could be taking steps to get their life set up outside of the group home in order to at some time live on their own not in the group home. For example, a troubled youth who's been in recovery or has recovered from drug abusedrug use can try to get their GED or obtain work. A group home is not necessarily a long-term or permanent answer, but it is a viable temporary option for many who want to get their lives back together again.
