Offering gender-specific rehabilitation services has shown to be worthwhile in situations where traditional rehabilitation settings have fallen short, including dealing with situations in a women's life which can be distinctive and distressing. Such issues may have to do with sexual abuse, physical abuse, psychological abuse, eating disorders, one's family members and being a mother, or any other significant issues which are specific to women. Research shows that women also can get embroiled in abusing drugs more readily than men, and so are more vulnerable to sickness because of drug abuse issues than males as a result. Due to obligations in their home, women also tend to postpone looking for and undergoing treatment, a circumstance which can lead to disaster. That said, rehab services for women are created in order that a women's needs are the concentration and priority.
