A LGBT facility provides an environment that is free from judgment, where LGBT clients can be totally safe and comfortable revealing to their peers and rehab counselors issues which need to be resolved so that they can get well. Rehabilitation counselors in the LGBT rehab can help clients repair relationships with their family, in the event their family disagree with their sexual preference as is often the case. This circumstance is an extremely common trigger for abusing drugs, which is an example of an issue that would be handled in rehabilitation. LGBT clients often only want to be accepted in their lives, and treatment will help them accept themselves and create confidence to be able to lead a healthy life free of drugs and alcohol.
