Individuals who would like to maintain a lot of flexibility in their lives can engage in an outpatient rehab should they need rehabilitation for substance abuse. Outpatient rehab makes it possible for the rehab client to take part in treatment services without the commitment you might usually have to consent to in an inpatient or residential drug rehabilitation center. This doesn't often work in the rehab client's favor however, particularly for those clients who need to resolve substantial drug abuse problems. So although an outpatient rehab might appear to be a convenient possibility, it isn't for everyone. Those that do decide on an outpatient rehab will generally show up at meetings and be a part of counseling and rehabilitation services on a part-time basis on a daily basis or a few days per week. This is helpful for those who have just completed a far more complete inpatient or residential program as a good aftercare or maintenance step, and for someone with only a short history of drug use which is really a really small amount of clients. For an individual with more significant addiction and dependency issues, inpatient or residential drug rehabilitation programs which provide rehabilitation on a long-term basis will be the more effective rehabilitation choice.
