Medicare is a type of health care insurance created by the federal government for older folks, as well as those that have certain disabilities and illnesses. If a person who has Medicare needs treatment for cases of substance abuse, their rehab will either be covered completely by their Medicare insurance or to a great extent. The only real catch is, the individual will have to receive treatment from the drugs and alcohol detox facility which accepts Medicare. Before the person will be permitted to commence treatment, they will also have to see their doctor who must state that rehab services are medically necessary, and the doctor will generally approve what type of rehab the person will take part in. Medicare Part An and Part B cover various kinds of rehab services. Medicare Part A pays for an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted program if the individual must be in a hospital because of their problem, and the costs which they willwill have to pay for personally are the same as any other hospital stay. Medicare Part B will partly cover outpatient rehab in a Medicare accepted program, and the individual will need to cover whatever Part B doesn't pay for with supplemental insurance or they'll have to self pay.
