TRICARE is medical insurance that's provided to folks in the military of the United States. Drug and alcohol use within the military is more common than one would assume, and the need to offer treatment to these individuals is an important priority. TRICARE covers many different rehabilitation services to address alcohol and drug dependence including detox services, and also treatment in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient programs. Those that have TRICARE will naturally need to have a prior approval before partaking in any kind of treatment service, which can be arranged using a regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient center could be the favored rehab choice, TRICARE will cover a three week period or one inpatient stay in such a facility per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are specific limits about how much time a TRICARE member can stay within an inpatient center that accepts TRICARE, then there is typically a 30 to 45 day window which is covered. TRICARE also covers family treatment that may be very useful, as it may help include family members in the healing and recovery process. No person in the military should struggle with this battle alone, and there are expert rehabilitation counselors ready to help today.
