TRICARE is health insurance which is offered to people in the military of the United States. TRICARE covers many different rehab services to address drug and alcohol dependence such as detox services, along with rehab in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient programs. Those that have TRICARE will naturally be required to obtain a prior authorization before taking part in any kind of treatment service, which may be organized using a regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient facility could be the preferred rehab option, TRICARE covers 21 days or one inpatient stay in such a program per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are certain limits as to just how long a TRICARE member can stay within an inpatient facility that accepts TRICARE, then there is typically a 30 to 45 day window that is covered. TRICARE also covers family therapy which can be very useful, as it can help include family members in the healing and process of recovery.
