TRICARE is health insurance which is provided to people in the armed forces of the United States. Drug and alcohol use within the military is more common than one would assume, and the need to offer treatment to these individuals is an important priority. TRICARE covers many different rehabilitation services to address drug and alcohol dependence including detox services, as well as treatment in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient programs. People with TRICARE will obviously have to have a prior approval before partaking in any type of treatment service, which may be arranged using a regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient program is the preferred rehab choice, TRICARE will cover a 3 week period or one inpatient stay in this program per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are certain limits regarding just how long a TRICARE member can remain in an inpatient center that accepts TRICARE, then there is typically a 30-45 day window which is covered. TRICARE also covers family therapy which may be very helpful, as it could help include family members in the healing and recovery process. No member of the military should fight this battle alone, and there are skilled rehabilitation counselors standing by to help you today.
