Medicare is a type of medical insurance developed by the U.S. government for older folks, along with individuals with certain disabilities and sicknesses. When someone who has Medicare needs rehabilitation for cases of drug or alcohol abuse, their treatment will either be covered entirely by their Medicare insurance or to a great extent. The only real exception is, the person will need to obtain treatment from the drug rehab facility which accepts Medicare. Before the person will be allowed to begin rehabilitation, they may also have to visit their doctor who must state that rehab services are medically essential, and the physician will typically approve what type of rehabilitation the individual will do. Medicare Part An and Part B cover different types of rehabilitation services. Medicare Part A covers an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted center if the individual has to be in a hospital for problem, and also the costs that they will have to pay for personally are the same as every other stay in a hospital. Part B will partly cover outpatient treatment within a Medicare accepted program, and the individual will need to cover whatever Part B doesn't cover with supplemental insurance or they will have to self pay.
