Hearing impaired persons generally have an elevated chance of substance abuse issues due to their impairment, and rehabilitation services should be available which serves their needs. ASL treatment services are definitely a must, as are rehab services which address the particular challenges that hearing impaired individuals face. Group therapy provides a venue for important peer support to ensure rehab clients can know that they're not on their own, and that there is hope to handle their problem with alcohol and drugs. Individual therapy services can be more tailored for everybody to ensure their unique challenges can be treated in rehab.
