Medicare is a type of health insurance developed by the U.S. government for older persons, along with those that have certain disabilities and sicknesses. If someone that has Medicare needs treatment for instances of substance abuse, their rehabilitation will either be covered in full by their Medicare health insurance or to a significant degree. The only real catch is, the person will have to acquire treatment from the drug rehab facility which accepts Medicare. Before the individual will be allowed to start rehab, they will also have to see their primary care physician who must state that rehabilitation services are medically necessary, and the doctor will generally approve what sort of rehab the person will take part in. Medicare Part An and Part B cover a variety of rehab services. Part A covers an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted center in the event that the individual must be hospitalized because of their problem, as well as the costs which they willwill have to cover personally are the same as any other stay in a hospital. Part B will partly cover outpatient rehabilitation in a Medicare accepted program, and the individual will need to cover whatever Medicare Part B doesn't pay for with supplemental insurance coverage or they're going to have to self pay.
