TRICARE is health care insurance that is provided to individuals in the armed forces of the United States. Drug and alcohol use within the military is a lot more common than one would think, and the necessity to provide rehabilitation to these individuals is a vital priority. TRICARE covers numerous treatment services to deal with alcohol and drug dependence such as detoxification services, and also rehabilitation in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient programs. People who have TRICARE will of course be required to obtain a prior authorization before partaking in any sort of rehab service, that may be arranged with their regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient facility could be the preferred rehab option, TRICARE covers twenty-one days or one inpatient stay in this facility per benefit period which is every 365 days. There are certain limits about just how long a TRICARE member can stay in an inpatient facility that accepts TRICARE, and there's typically a 30-45 day window which is covered.
