TRICARE is health insurance which is provided to folks in the armed forces of the United States. Substance abuse within the military is a lot more common than one would think, and the need to offer rehab to these individuals is an important priority. TRICARE covers a number of rehabilitation services to cope with drug and alcohol dependence including detoxification services, along with rehab in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient settings. Individuals with TRICARE will of course be asked to get a prior approval before taking part in any kind of treatment service, that may be organized with their regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient program will be the favored rehabilitation option, TRICARE covers a three week period or one inpatient stay in that program per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are specific limits as to the length of time a TRICARE member can stay within an inpatient program that accepts TRICARE, then there is typically a 30 to 45 day window which is covered. TRICARE also covers family treatment which is often very beneficial, as it can certainly help include loved ones in the healing and process of recovery.
