Firstly, detecting a drug and alcohol abuse problem among the hearing impaired is often a challenge, as these individuals may make an attempt to hide their problem because of social stigmas attached to abusing drugs. However, drug rehabilitation counselors who provide rehabilitation to hearing impaired individuals comprehend the challenges that these clients face. ASL rehab services are of course a must, as are treatment services which address the particular challenges that hearing impaired individuals face. Group therapy provides a forum for important peer support to ensure that rehabilitation clients can know that they are not on their own, and that there's hope to resolve their problem with drugs and alcohol.
