Because of responsibilities in the home, women also tend to put off looking for and receiving treatment, a circumstance which can be a catalyst for catastrophe. With this in mind, treatment services for women are created so that a women's needs would be the focus and priority. Similar to coed facilities, drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs which provide rehab services to women help women through detoxification and withdrawal as a first step. Following this step, professionals help women give attention to both common and gender specific problems which may have triggered their drug abuse. Women also benefit from the constructive support from their female peers, plus some facilities that offer rehabilitation services to women also provide client beds for her young children.
