TRICARE is health insurance that's offered to members of the armed forces of the United States. Drug abuse inside the military is much more common than one would imagine, and the necessity to provide treatment to these individuals is an important priority. TRICARE covers many different treatment services to address alcohol and drug dependence such as detox services, and also rehab in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient programs. People with TRICARE will of course be asked to have a prior authorization before partaking in any type of treatment service, that may be arranged with their regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient program could be the preferred rehab choice, TRICARE covers a three week period or one inpatient stay in such a center per benefit period which is every 365 days. There are specific limits regarding just how long a TRICARE member can stay in the inpatient center that accepts TRICARE, and there is typically a 30 to 45 day window which is covered. TRICARE also covers family counselling which is often very beneficial, as it could help include family members in the healing and process of recovery. No member of the military should fight this battle alone, and there are professional rehabilitation counselors standing by to help you today.
