Medicaid is a form of medical health insurance available for many people who are in certain income brackets which qualifies them to obtain this government funded insurance coverage. Whether someone qualifies for Medicaid doesn't only depend upon income however, and individuals shouldn't assume they don't qualify just because they earn a reasonable income. For example, people who have many dependents may qualify for Medicaid even though they make what can be described as a reasonable income. Medicaid also can cover the price of treatment, if someone has been abusing alcohol or drugs and requires treatment. There are many alcohol and drug rehab programs which accept Medicaid, but various states have distinct guidelines for what kinds of treatment are covered. Certain states only include outpatient rehab services for example while other states cover far more extensive rehab such as a residential stay in long-term alcohol and drug rehab facility. If somebody is involved with substance abuse and desires help, they are able to use their Medicaid insurance coverage to get this treatment. If they do not have Medicaid plus don't have enough cash or any other form of medical health insurance to cover rehab, they can see if they qualify for Medicaid and then sign up for a drug and alcohol rehab program that's approved in their state.
