TRICARE is medical insurance that's offered to people in the armed forces of the United States. Drug and alcohol use within the military is much more common than one would think, and the necessity to offer treatment to these individuals is a priority. TRICARE covers many different treatment services to handle drug and alcohol dependence including detox services, as well as treatment in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient facilities. People with TRICARE will naturally need to have a prior authorization before partaking in any type of rehabilitation service, which may be arranged using a regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient program will be the preferred rehabilitation choice, TRICARE covers a 3 week period or one inpatient stay in that program per benefit period which is every 365 days. There are certain limits concerning how long a TRICARE member can remain in an inpatient center that accepts TRICARE, and there's typically a 30 to 45 day window that's covered. TRICARE also covers family treatment which may be very useful, as it can certainly help include loved ones in the healing and recovery process. No member of the military should struggle with this battle alone, and there are skilled treatment counselors standing by to assist you today.
