TRICARE is health care insurance which is provided to folks in the military of the United States. Drug abuse within the military is much more common than one would think, and the need to provide rehabilitation to these individuals is a crucial priority. TRICARE covers a variety of rehab services to cope with alcohol and drug dependence including detox services, in addition to treatment in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient facilities. People with TRICARE will of course need to have a prior approval before partaking in any kind of rehab service, which may be organized using a regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient program could be the favored rehabilitation option, TRICARE covers 21 days or one inpatient stay in that program per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are particular limits about how long a TRICARE member can remain within an inpatient program that accepts TRICARE, then there is typically a 30-45 day window which is covered. TRICARE also covers family treatment which is often very useful, as it may help include loved ones in the healing and process of recovery.
