A group home for somebody who has tbeen involved with alcohol and drug abuse is a place which offers continuous support and help for people in recovery. A group home is usually for troubled youth, but there are also group homes for individuals with a mental health disorder or who are encountering behavioral problems for example. Instead of sending those who are experiencing drug abusedrug use or recovering from drug abuse to an orphanage, asylum or any other similar place, a group home will help offer an acceptable environment to help sustain stability inside their lives and still have counsel and assistance at their fingertips around the clock. Residents inside a group home could be getting involved in treatment services whilst in residence, or could be taking steps to get their life set up outside the group home in order to at one point live independently outside the group home. For example, a troubled youth who may have been in recovery or has recovered from substance abuse can try to get their GED or acquire work. A group home is not necessarily a long-term or permanent solution, yet it's a feasible temporary option for those who making the effort to get their lives back together.
