So while an outpatient rehab may seem like a convenient option, it isn't for everyone. People who do choose an outpatient rehab will generally attend meetings and be a part of counseling and rehabilitation services on a part-time basis daily or several days weekly. This is often helpful for many who have just completed a more comprehensive inpatient or residential program as an effective aftercare or upkeep step, or for someone with just a short history of drug abuse which is really a very small amount of clients. For a person with more severe drug abuse and dependency issues, inpatient or residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation facilities that provide treatment over a long-term basis will be the more beneficial rehabilitation option.
