Offering gender-specific treatment services has proven very helpful in situations where conventional rehab settings have not meet expectations, such as dealing with situations within a women's life that happen to be unique and distressing. Such issues may relate to sexual abuse, physical abuse, psychological abuse, eating disorders, one's family members and motherhood, or other significant issues that are specific to women. Research has revealed that women also can become involved in drug abuse more readily than men, and so are more vulnerable to illness due to addiction issues than males consequently.
