TRICARE is medical insurance which is offered to members of the military of the United States. Drug and alcohol use within the military is more common than one would imagine, and the need to provide rehab to these individuals is a crucial priority. TRICARE covers a variety of rehab services to address alcohol and drug dependence like detox services, as well as treatment in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient settings. Those that have TRICARE will naturally have to obtain a prior approval before partaking in any type of rehab service, which is often arranged with their regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient center is the favored treatment option, TRICARE will cover a 3 week period or one inpatient stay in this program per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are specific limits as to just how long a TRICARE member can remain in an inpatient facility that accepts TRICARE, then there is typically a 30-45 day window which is covered. TRICARE also covers family therapy which may be very helpful, as it can help include family members in the healing and process of recovery. No member of the military should fight this battle alone, and there are skilled rehabilitation counselors ready to help you today.
