Offering gender-specific treatment services has proven very useful in situations where conventional rehabilitation settings have fallen short, such as coping with situations within a women's life which can be unique and distressing. Such issues may relate to sexual abuse, physical abuse, mental abuse, eating disorders, one's family members and being a mother, or other significant issues which are specific to women. Research has revealed that women can also get embroiled in drug use more easily than men, and are more vulnerable to sickness due to drug abuse issues than males because of this. Because of duties in the home, women also tend to put off seeking out and receiving treatment, a circumstance which can be a catalyst for disaster. That said, rehabilitation services for women are created to ensure that a women's needs would be the focus and priority.
