Individuals who wish to maintain some flexibility in their lives can engage in an outpatient rehab whenever they need rehabilitation for substance abuse. Outpatient rehab enables the treatment client to take part in rehabilitation services with the same commitment one would ordinarily have to consent to within an inpatient or residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation center. This doesn't often work in the rehab client's favor however, particularly for those clients who need to solve significant drug abuse issues. So even though an outpatient rehab may seem like an expedient possibility, it isn't for everyone. People that decide on an outpatient rehab will ordinarily take part in meetings and take part in therapy and treatment services part-time daily or a few days weekly. This is helpful for individuals who have recently completed a much more thorough inpatient or residential program as an effective aftercare or upkeep step, or someone with only a brief history of drug use which is usually a very small amount of clients. For someone with more serious drug abuse and dependency problems, inpatient or residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers which provide rehab over a long-term basis will be the more beneficial rehab option.
