TRICARE is medical health insurance that is offered to individuals in the military of the United States. Drug abuse within the military is much more common than one would assume, and the need to provide rehabilitation to these individuals is a priority. TRICARE covers many different rehab services to handle drug and alcohol dependence like detox services, along with rehabilitation in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient programs. Those that have TRICARE will obviously have to obtain a prior approval before partaking in any sort of treatment service, that may be organized with their regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient center could be the preferred treatment choice, TRICARE covers 21 days or one inpatient stay in this program per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are specific limits regarding how long a TRICARE member can remain within an inpatient center that accepts TRICARE, then there is typically a 30 to 45 day window that is covered. TRICARE also covers family therapy that may be very useful, as it could help include family members in the healing and recovery process. No member of the military should struggle with this battle alone, and there are skilled rehab counselors waiting to help today.
