Individuals who wish to maintain a certain amount of flexibility within their lives can take advantage of an outpatient rehab whenever they need rehab for substance abuse. Outpatient rehab makes it possible for the treatment client to take part in treatment services with the same commitment one would usually have to consent to within an inpatient or residential drug and alcohol rehab center. This doesn't always work in the treatment client's favor however, specifically those clients who need to resolve substantial substance abuse issues. So while an outpatient rehab might appear to be a convenient option, it isn't for everyone. Those who do choose an outpatient rehab will ordinarily attend meetings and be a part of counseling and treatment services on a part-time basis every day or several days weekly. This is very helpful for many who have recently completed a much more complete inpatient or residential program as a good aftercare or upkeep step, and for someone with just a short history of drug use which is really a really small amount of clients. For an individual with more severe addiction and dependency issues, inpatient or residential drug treatment programs that provide rehabilitation over a long-term basis will be the more advantageous rehab choice.
