A group home for somebody who has tbeen involved with alcohol and drug abuse is a facility which provides continual support and assistance for individuals in recovery. A group home is ordinarily for troubled adolescents, but there's also group homes for those with a mental health disorder or who are encountering behavioral difficulties for example. As opposed to sending people who are struggling with drug abusedrug use or recovering from substance abuse to an orphanage, asylum or any other similar facility, a group home may help offer an acceptable environment to help maintain stability in their lives and still have counsel and support at their fingertips around the clock. Residents in the group home might be getting involved in rehab services whilst in residence, or might be taking actions to get their life set up outside of the group home so that they can at some time live independently away from the group home. For example, a troubled youth who may have been in recovery or has recovered from drug abusedrug use can try to get their GED or obtain work. A group home is not necessarily a long-term or permanent solution, but it's a sensible short-term option for individuals who are trying to get their lives back together.
