Medicare is a form of medical health insurance created by the federal government for seniors, in addition to people with certain disabilities and illnesses. If a person that has Medicare needs treatment for instances of substance abuse, their treatment will either be covered fully by their Medicare insurance or to a great extent. The only exception is, the individual will have to receive treatment from an alcohol and drugs detox facility which accepts Medicare. Before the individual will be permitted to start treatment, they may also have to visit their physician who must state that rehabilitation services are medically needed, and the physician will usually approve what sort of rehab the individual will take part in. Medicare Part An and Part B cover a variety of rehab providers. Part A pays for an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted center when the individual must be in a hospital for his or her problem, along with the costs that they will have to pay for personally are identical to every other stay in a hospital. Medicare Part B will partially cover outpatient treatment within a Medicare accepted center, and the individual will have to cover whatever Medicare Part B doesn't cover with supplemental insurance or they will have to self pay.
