A group home for a person who has been involved in alcohol and drug abuse is a facility which offers continuous support and assistance for people in recovery. A group home is usually for troubled adolescents, but there's also group homes for individuals with a mental health disorder or who are encountering behavioral difficulties for example. Rather than sending people who are struggling with drug abusedrug use or recovering from drug abuse to an orphanage, asylum or any other similar facility, a group home can help offer an appropriate environment to help individuals maintain stability within their lives and still have counsel and support within reach around the clock. Residents within a group home might be taking part in treatment services whilst in residence, or might be taking actions to get their life setup outside the group home in order to at some point live on their own not in the group home.
