Medicaid is a medical insurance available for individuals who are in certain income brackets which qualifies them to receive this government provided insurance coverage. Whether or not a person is qualified for Medicaid doesn't only depend upon their earnings however, and people shouldn't presume they don't qualify just because they make a good income. For example, people who have many dependents may qualify for Medicaid even when they earn what would be considered a fair income. Medicaid can also cover the expenses of rehab, if someone has been abusing alcohol or drugs and needs treatment. There are many drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs which accept Medicaid, but different states have distinct guidelines for what forms of treatment are covered. Certain states only cover outpatient rehabilitation services for example while other states cover far more intensive rehabilitation like a residential stay in long-term drug rehab program. If somebody is involved in substance abuse and desires help, they are able to use their Medicaid health coverage to obtain this help. If they do not have Medicaid and in addition don't have the money or some other type of health insurance to pay for rehab, they could check if they are eligible for a Medicaid and then sign up for a drug and alcohol rehab center which is approved inside their state.
