A LGBT program offers an environment that is free from judgment, where LGBT clients can feel completely comfortable and safe revealing to their peers and treatment counselors problems which need to be handled to enable them to recover. Rehab counselors within a LGBT rehab will help clients repair relationships with their family, in the event their family disagree with their sexual choice as is generally the case. This situation is certainly a frequent trigger for drug use, which is a good example of an issue that could be resolved in treatment. LGBT clients often would like to be accepted in their lives, and treatment will help them accept themselves and create confidence so that they can lead a wholesome life free from alcohol and drugs.
