TRICARE is medical insurance that's offered to people in the military of the United States. Drug and alcohol use within the military is a lot more common than one would imagine, and the necessity to provide rehabilitation to these individuals is an important priority. TRICARE covers a number of rehabilitation services to deal with alcohol and drug dependence such as detox services, as well as rehabilitation in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient programs. Those that have TRICARE will obviously need to obtain a prior approval before taking part in any type of rehabilitation service, which may be organized with their regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient program could be the preferred treatment choice, TRICARE will cover a three week period or one inpatient stay in that program per benefit period which is every 365 days. There are specific limits regarding the length of time a TRICARE member can remain in the inpatient facility that accepts TRICARE, then there is typically a 30 to 45 day window that's covered. TRICARE also covers family counselling which is often very helpful, as it can certainly help include loved ones in the healing and recovery process. No person in the military should fight this battle alone, and there are skilled rehab counselors waiting to help you today.
