Firstly, detecting a drug and alcohol abuse problem among the hearing impaired is generally a challenge, since these individuals may try to hide their issue as a result of social stigmas that come with substance abuse. However, drug rehab counselors who offer rehabilitation to hearing impaired individuals understand the challenges these clients face. ASL treatment services are of course a must, as well as rehabilitation services which address the unique challenges that hearing impaired individuals encounter. Group therapy gives a forum for important peer support to ensure that treatment clients can know that they are not on their own, and that there is hope to handle their problem with drugs and alcohol. Individual counseling services can be more tailor-made for everybody to ensure their particular challenges can be remedied in treatment.
