Medicaid is a form of medical health insurance available for many people who are in certain income brackets which qualifies them to obtain this government provided insurance coverage. Whether someone is qualified for Medicaid doesn't only depend upon income however, and people shouldn't assume they don't qualify simply because they earn a reasonable income. As an example, men and women who have quite a few dependents may be entitled to Medicaid even when they make what would be described as a sensible income. Medicaid also can cover the expenses of treatment, when someone has been abusing drugs or alcohol and requires treatment. There are lots of alcohol and drug rehabilitation centers which accept Medicaid, but different states have different rules for what forms of treatment are covered. Certain states only cover outpatient rehabilitation services for instance while other states cover more intensive treatment such as a residential stay in long-term drug and alcohol rehabilitation program. If anyone is involved in substance abuse and needs help, they're able to use their Medicaid insurance coverage to get this help. If they don't have Medicaid plus don't have the funds or another form of health care insurance to cover rehabilitation, they can see if they qualify for Medicaid and then enroll in an alcohol and drug treatment program that is approved in their state.
