A group home for somebody who has been involved in drug abuse is a facility which offers continuous support and assistance for people in recovery. A group home is ordinarily for troubled youth, but in addition there are group homes for people with a mental health problem or who are experiencing behavioral trouble for example. Instead of sending people who are experiencing substance abuse or recovering from drug abuse to an orphanage, asylum and other similar place, a group home might help provide an appropriate environment to help sustain stability inside their lives and have counsel and support at their fingertips around the clock. People who reside in a group home could be taking part in rehabilitation services whilst in residence, or could be taking steps to get their life setup outside of the group home to enable them to at one point live on their own not in the group home. For instance, a troubled youth who may have been in recovery or has recovered from drug abusedrug use can try to get their GED or obtain employment. A group home is not necessarily a long-term or permanent option, yet it's a viable short-term option for individuals who are attempting to get their lives back together again.
